Thanks everyone for listening to the mixes! Im just dreaming up ideas for my final few mixes before I move on to producing some original compositions.

Christian Mashup Mix

A weird and maybe slightly blasphemous combination, but I think it’d be kinda interesting to flex the full power of music technology and create a christian vs pop/ hip hop/ dance mashup mix, like Girltalk, glitchmob, or my personal favorite, the Ludachrist mix. This project will take a bit longer than the previous mixes, as it will hopefully be friggin awesome, but I’m excited to work on it. I think the difficulty will be from finding any usable acapellas from christian songs. That seems to be pretty hard to find.

Who knows what it will turn out to be, but if you have any ideas or want to join my crew of 1, hit me up.

Kubrick smurf

I love drum and bass, and apparently I’m quite alone on this one. I make this mix for myself to showcase the awesome 808 bass power from the jungle, which threatens to blow one’s hearing everytime it’s played. The mix is a journey from melodic vocal drum and bass to more darkstep, yes, more dark and technically intricate basslines. Just fyi for those of you who don’t know, most of these tunes are currently the smashhits of the drum and bass scene.

When I have some spare time I’ll eventually remaster all of my mixes, and fix some of the funky parts. In the meantime, enjoy the sounds of drum and bass for your face! Big ups to you!

I finally spent a  saturday working on a new mix for you guys. Instead of using my turntables, I decided to experiment with Ableton Live. It’s a bit tedious to import all the songs and tweak them to match the tempo, but once that is done, it’s awesome! I put some random beat repeat/ glitch effects on the mix, as well as looping in some breakbeats from other songs. I wonder if you can identify some of the beats!

Song selection process for this mix was fairly arbitrary, as it doesn’t follow any specific genre of music. Pop, Trance, Electro, breakbeat, hip hop, House, Drum and Bass!

This “unfinished” mix is a compilation of miami booty bass style records. I call it “unfinished” because I was intending to do some scratching on some of the longer instrumental parts, but alas, I wasn’t able to get around to it. 5 years later and  Wow! This is my “definitive” Freestyle (Latin Freestyle) mix that I made in 2005. yowza, that was a while ago. I love the simplicity of the beats, and the catchy vocals. I think this music was only popular in major metropolitan areas such as NYC, Philly, Miami, and SF.  I went to a freestyle concert a few years back thrown by 94.9, and it was pretty interesting to see all the artists again, stevie B, cover girls, debbie deb, lisa lisa, etc.. good times.
